{"id":208,"date":"2010-10-19T08:42:34","date_gmt":"2010-10-19T13:42:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/fees\/"},"modified":"2022-02-08T15:11:21","modified_gmt":"2022-02-08T15:11:21","slug":"general-information","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/fees\/general-information\/","title":{"rendered":"General Information"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-page\" data-elementor-id=\"208\" class=\"elementor elementor-208\" data-elementor-post-type=\"page\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-676669b4 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"676669b4\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-13635ed1\" data-id=\"13635ed1\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1a55acae elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1a55acae\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Cancellation of Registration &#8211; Non-payment<\/strong><br \/>Nicholls State University will cancel class registration for non-payment.\u00a0 All students with overall account balances greater than $300 will have their class schedule cancelled by the University on the published dates each term.<\/p><p><strong>Cancellation of Registration by the University &#8211; Reasons other than non-payment<\/strong><br \/>Cancellation of registration originates in the Office of Records and Registration when a registration is found to be illegal or fraudulent, in which case no refund of fees will be made.<\/p><p>In lieu of canceling registration, the university may refuse to allow a student to register until all outstanding amounts are paid in full.\u00a0 As such, generally, students will not be allowed to use financial aid from a current semester to pay for an indebtedness of a prior semester.\u00a0 Students indebted to the university will not be allowed to receive transcripts until all debts or financial obligations are paid in full.<\/p><p><strong>Returned Checks<br \/><\/strong>Any person who issues a check to the university or pays fees online through web-check that is returned by the bank for any reason will be charged a $15 processing fee per check or payments through web-check, over and above the amount for which the payment was originally made.\u00a0 In addition, students issuing checks or making payments through web-check not honored by their banks may be subject to dismissal from the university.\u00a0 Nicholls reserves the right to refuse to cash or accept checks from students who have had checks returned.\u00a0 Stop-payment orders and inputting errors are treated in the same manner as checks returned because of insufficient funds.<\/p><p>A stop-payment order on a check for payment on account balances may not be used in lieu of following the correct resignation procedures.\u00a0 Only those who follow correct resignation procedures are entitled to credit adjustments.\u00a0 Anyone who registers is responsible for the payment of all charges due, even though a stop-payment order is issued.\u00a0 Returned checks not paid in a timely manner will be presented to the Lafourche Parish DA&#8217;s Office for collection proceedings.\u00a0 Students having checks for their accounts turned over to the DA will be placed on a permanent &#8220;CASH ONLY&#8221; basis.<\/p><p><strong>Transcripts<br \/><\/strong>If an indebtedness is paid with a check or web-check, there will be a waiting period of 10 business days before an official transcript will be released.\u00a0 In order to have an official transcript released within 4 business days, payment of indebtedness should be made at the Fee Collection Center with cash or money order.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cancellation of Registration &#8211; Non-paymentNicholls State University will cancel class registration for non-payment.\u00a0 All students with overall account balances greater than $300 will have their class schedule cancelled by the University on the published dates each term.
