By registering for courses at Nicholls State University (\u201cNicholls\u201d) or in a Nicholls Online Program, and by clicking on the \u201caccept\u201d button, you hereby acknowledge that you are entering into a contractual arrangement with Nicholls, whereby you agree to be bound by such terms and conditions and also agree to comply with all laws, rules and regulations applicable to your registration, payment of fees, enrollment and attendance.\u00a0 Furthermore, you agree to receive documents (ex. IRS form 1098T) and other correspondence electronically.<\/p>

Specifically, you acknowledge that<\/p>

  • If you receive financial aid that will reduce your account balance to $300.00 or lower, you are responsible for cancelling your registration by dropping all courses before the first day of classes of the term registered. Failure to do this will result in you being fully responsible for any tuition and fees, room and board, miscellaneous charges and\/or fines that you or the university adds to your student account after the registration process.<\/li>
  • You understand that your class registration will be cancelled for non-payment. Accounts with an overall account balance greater than $300.00 will have class registration cancelled.<\/li><\/ul>

    • \u00a0Withholding of services: If you have any outstanding obligations with the University, the university reserves the right to withhold future services including but not limited to registration, transcript requests, diploma, use of university facilities, and other services deemed appropriate.<\/li>
    • In the event that financial aid is reduced or cancelled, or in the event you have not met the specified requirements for receiving such aid, you will become responsible for the full balance of outstanding charges.<\/li>
    • If payment is in the form of check and the check is returned by the bank for any reason, a $15.00 service charge will be applied to the account. If the returned check is not redeemed promptly, the returned check may be submitted to the District Attorney\u2019s office for collection. Upon transmittal for collection, you will be responsible for a $5.00 fee in addition to any other collection costs imposed by the District Attorney\u2019s office based on a percentage of the amount of the check.<\/li>
    • If you leave Nicholls prior to the 60% point in the semester, officially or unofficially, you are obligated to return the federal aid received for that semester proportionate to your attendance. Failure to return that portion of federal aid received upon demand may result in the amount owed being transferred to the State of Louisiana Attorney General\u2019s Office, or other outside collection agency, for collection. Upon transmittal for collection, you are responsible for collection\/attorney\u2019s fees in the amount of thirty-three and one-third per cent (33 1\/3%) of the unpaid debt, and all court costs.<\/li>
    • Any debt owed to the university as a result of your failure to make required payments or failure to comply with the terms of the applicable program as governed by the Nicholls University Catalog will result in a violation of the terms and conditions of this contract. Failure to respond to demands from Nicholls for payment\u00a0 may result in such debts being transferred to the State of Louisiana Attorney General\u2019s Office, or other outside collection agency, for collection.
