A MESSAGE FROM DR. JAY CLUNE, PRESIDENT
Nicholls reopened its business operations on Tuesday, Sept. 14 to prepare campus for the arrival of residential students beginning on Saturday, Sep 18 and the start of classes on Monday, Sept. 20. While all courses will have a virtual option next week, some instructors may offer the option to attend in-person. Be on the lookout for guidance from your instructors with more information.
All classes will resume in-person on Monday, Sept. 27. We realize that not all students will be able to return to campus that week. For those students, college deans can approve virtual accommodations beyond Sept. 27. Please communicate your situations to your instructors.
A number of WiFi hotspots have been ordered and are on the way to campus. Any student needing a hotspot or a laptop computer can check these devices out from the library. We have a limited number of each so be sure to check them out as soon as possible.
Beginning Friday, Sept. 17, we will provide a variety of supplies across campus for students in need. The Alumni House will offer household cleaners, hygiene products and food on weekdays from 9-11 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. You can also visit the Brady Complex Store for clothing and home goods. Bring your Colonel Card with you to pick up supplies.
In addition to supplies, we will also offer Rouses and Walmart gift cards thanks to the generous donations from the community. To receive supplies or gift cards, go to nicholls.edu/ida-resources to fill out the Emergency Assistance Form.
Day Camp for children at least 5 years old is available weekdays to faculty and staff. A cost of $30 per day includes meals and programming. If you need help with the cost of Day Camp, contact Liz McCurry at 985-448-4521 for information about assistance. Little Colonels Academy will reopen Monday, Sept. 27. Employees needing to work remotely until Sept. 27 must communicate their situation with their Vice Presidents.
