Watershed Initiative Workshop Offered

This is a reminder that Region 7 of the Louisiana Watershed Initiative will be hosting a workshop in one week on May 20, 2021 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. This WaterOpps, or Water Opportunities, Workshop will focus on the opportunities for water-related activities that participants think should be pursued for the benefit of the region. We’ll be focusing on the following categories:

  • Planning and development
  • Projects
  • Data and modeling
  • Outreach and engagement

This information will be incorporated for the benefit of the development of the Region 7 Provisional Governance Recommendation, a document that outlines the recommended activities for the region. We encourage anyone who lives and/or works in Region 7 to attend. Region 7 includes the following parishes: Ascension, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. John, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Washington, and West Feliciana.

The meeting will be held virtually on Zoom, and you can register for the meeting ahead of time here.

Get Free Admission to Hairspray Musical​

The Student Government Association will sponsor free admission for students interested in attending the Hairspray musical in the Mary and Al Danos Theater. The event will be May 28 to May 30, and June 4 to June 5. More details about the show will be released later.  

Sign Up For Fishing, Golf Tournaments that Support Nicholls

Sign up today for the ninth annual Morgan City Oilfield Fishing Rodeo fishing and golf tournaments. The golf tournament will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 11 at the Atchafalaya at Idlewood Golf Course. The weigh-in for the fishing tournament will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 12 at the Morgan City Auditorium. Some proceeds from the tournament will benefit Nicholls.

Peer Tutor, Writing Coach positions available

The Tutorial and Academic Enhancement Center is seeking undergraduate peer tutors and writing coaches for the Fall 2021 semester. Qualified applicants should have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 and a grade of A or B in or placement out of courses they wish to tutor. To complete an application, interested students can visit our webpage, or they may call 985-448-4100 for more information.
