Like many aspects of campus, Inside was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Office of Marketing and Communications was dedicated to keeping the website updated with the latest information and several other projects. And as Dr. Clune himself focused on spreading the latest updates via email, we did not want to flood your inbox with similar information. Additionally, many topics that Inside would normally promote, such as events, were being delayed. Because of this, Inside went on hiatus.

But as campus began to stir with the return of students, we thought it important to bring Inside back. For those of you who are new, Inside is the weekly campus newsletter dedicated to spreading campus news, events and other aspects of student life.

Today we will welcome new Athletic Director Jonathan Terrell into his new leadership role during a press conference at 11 a.m. in Stopher Gym. “JT” is a former Nicholls football player and coach who has years of experience in sales and fundraising. He won numerous awards while in pharmaceutical sales and has raised or saved approximately $90,000 for the Nicholls athletics as the head of booster clubs. Masks and 6-foot social distancing rules will be strictly enforced at the event. If you do not feel comfortable attending in person, or cannot, we will be streaming the conference. Visit the Nicholls Facebook to watch.

We hope to see you there. And as you get back into the routine of your week, please make time, perhaps during your morning coffee, to check out our latest magazine. During the pandemic, we looked at how our people responded and have told the stories of how our staff and students showed a commitment to education. Hopefully it helps inspire you for the upcoming semester.

Colonel Releases COVID-19 Issue

Nobody could have predicted what would happen this spring. The global coronavirus pandemic disrupted all of our plans. But our people responded. Our faculty displayed flexibility in delivering their classes. Our staff evolved in how they offered their services. And our students showed their commitment to their education. We told those stories in the pages of this special issue of The Colonel.
