Nicholls Biology Student Brings Home Two Research Awards

Nicholls State University Biology Grad Student Austin Ortman won two research awards at the Louisiana Chapter of the American Fisheries Society annual meeting.

Benjamin Robichaux, as assistant professor of music and director of athletic bands (Aug. 4). 
Joseph Tokosh, as assistant professor of history and geography (Aug. 11). 
Alphonzo Wilson, operations and facilities coordinator for Nicholls Athletics (July 6).

Jamie Gros, from paraprofessional to lead teacher for Little Colonel’s Academy (July 24).

Penny Melancon, as a custodian with 20 years of service (July 9). 
Catherine Keehn, as computing specialist for academic computing with 22 years and 11 months of service (July 30).


Support the United Way

Every year, Nicholls State University and the United Way for South Louisiana work together to collect donations of school supplies to provide full backpacks for elementary, middle and high school students from low-income families in the Bayou Region. 

Drop boxes will be set up around campus. The most needed supplies are crayons, pencils, colored pencils, scissors, loose leaf paper, spiral notebooks, binders, glue sticks, rulers, construction paper, pencil bags and school bags.
