Taskforce Seeks Input from Faculty on Renaming

Dear Faculty:

As stated on the university’s Diversity and Inclusion webpage:

Nicholls State University is currently seeking to rename the streets and the buildings that house the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences and the College of Sciences and Technology. A task force that includes students, staff, faculty, alumni and the community has been charged with identifying possible names that have significant meaning and impact to the university and the Bayou Region.

Your faculty representatives on the taskforce are Dr. Shaniece Bickham, Mr. Farren Clark, Chef Donald Kasten, and Dr. Alyson Theriot. We are tasked with keeping you informed during the renaming process and abreast of any updates.

There is also an opportunity for you to share your input. Recommendations for street and building names can be submitted using the form accessible on the Diversity & Inclusion webpage. Naming criteria are also listed on the webpage. Recommendation(s) should be submitted using the designated form no later than Sept. 30.
