Foreign Language

The Foreign Languages program at Nicholls State University seeks to give its undergraduates a well-rounded introduction to the languages, literature, and French and Spanish cultures.

French Minor
French students pursue their training through courses in civilization, stylistics, textual analysis, film and literature from the Middle Ages to the present.

A minor in French requires the completion of 18 semester hours with a minimum grade of C in all courses in French to include FREN 101, 102, 201, 202, and 6 semester hours of French electives from courses numbered 300 or above.

Spanish Minor
The Spanish minor offers students courses in language, culture and civilization. The program emphasizes intercultural communications with an emphasis on understanding culture through literature, history and language.

A minor in Spanish requires the completion of 21 semester hours with a minimum grade of C in all courses in Spanish to include SPAN 101, 102, 201, 202, and 9 semester hours of Spanish electives from courses numbered 300 or above.
