Her research and teaching areas include childhood, race and ethnic studies, disability, and gender and sexuality studies in 20th and 21st century American literature and culture. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in Criticism and the Journal of Modern Literature.
A Lafourche parish native, Dr. Collins returned to the bayou and joined the Nicholls community in Fall 2020. Outside of the classroom, Dr. Collins can be found procrasti-baking in her kitchen, digging in a garden, or reading a local library book with her cat Cardigan.
