Summary<\/strong><\/b><\/p>

The primary responsibilities of the Director of Communications consist of managing the Jefferson Chamber\u2019s communications, outreach, and promotional efforts to a wide variety of audiences, including the media, membership, local business leaders, elected officials, and other economic development organizations in the Greater New Orleans region. This position works to ensure the Chamber\u2019s message and image is consistent with its mission and goals.\u00a0<\/p>

    Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/b><\/p>

    • Manage all aspects of written, digital, print and visual communications for the Jefferson Chamber, Jefferson Chamber Young Professionals (JCYP), the Jefferson Chamber Foundation and the Jefferson Chamber PAC<\/li>
    • \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Work closely with the Vice President, Director of Events & Programs, and Director of Advocacy to ensure event graphics, signage, and other marketing items are effectively created and used<\/li>
    • \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Oversee the writing, editing, and approving of all publications and postings before they are published, including press releases, blog\/news posts, newsletters, email blasts, social media posts, and more<\/li>
    • \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Supervise production of Chamber\u2019s annual publication, the Jefferson Review, by collecting, organizing, and transferring written content and photographs to local publishing company<\/li>
    • \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Maintain and update all social media content on sites including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube for Jefferson Chamber and its affiliate organizations<\/li>
    • \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Maintain and update all website content on the Jefferson Chamber, Jefferson Chamber PAC, and LiveWell Jefferson websites using WordPress knowledge<\/li>
    • \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Develop and follow an annual communications plan<\/li>
    • \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Create ad content and communicate with the Chamber\u2019s external design agency for design needs to ensure deadlines are met and maximum promotion of events is achieved<\/li>
    • \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Responsible for the content creation and scheduling of daily emails via Constant Contact<\/li>
    • \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Manage press for signature events and assist with coordinating publicity and developing\/maintaining relationships with local media<\/li>
    • \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Ensure photographs are taken at all events; download and archive all event photos<\/li>
    • \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Update sponsorship and membership guides annually and as needed<\/li>
    • \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Oversee and assist with other special projects such as Accreditation and award submissions<\/li><\/ul>

      General Responsibilities<\/strong><\/b><\/p>

      • \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Attend Chamber networking events, as needed<\/li>
      • \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Assist with and help manage Chamber functions on and off site<\/li>
      • \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Perform all other duties as assigned by the President<\/li><\/ul>

        Qualifications<\/strong><\/b><\/p>

        • At least 3 years of experience in the field of communications, advertising, marketing or PR preferred<\/li>
        • Bachelor\u2019s Degree required<\/li>
        • Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel and Power Point)<\/li>
        • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign and Photoshop)<\/li>
        • Proficient with Constant Contact<\/li>
        • Basic WordPress knowledge preferred<\/li>
        • Excellent written, oral, and editing skills<\/li>
        • Attention to detail, accuracy, and time management are required<\/li>
        • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines<\/li>
        • Networking skills and ability to represent the Jefferson Chamber favorably<\/li>
