Emergent Method is seeking a dynamic communication, marketing, and\/or public relations professional to join our team as a communication consultant. This role will be responsible for supporting a wide variety of public relations, outreach and engagement, and strategic communication initiatives and projects for the firm and its clients. This is a full-time position based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.<\/span>

The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong writing, copywriting, and editing skills and an ability to create compelling content and messaging for a variety of mediums and deliverables. Additionally, this individual should have a strong work ethic, maintain keen attention to detail, express an eagerness to learn and grow professionally, the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and be a creative problem solver.<\/span>

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:<\/span><\/p>

  • Support client engagements related to strategic communication, public relations, social media management, stakeholder engagement and public outreach, research, or other needs<\/li>
  • Use problem-solving skills to identify client needs, define goals and objectives, and coordinate and develop communication deliverables, plans, and campaigns that are strategic, comprehensive, and aligned with client goals<\/li>
  • Create external communications, including press releases, marketing collateral, social media content, and other deliverables for a variety of projects and clients<\/li>
  • Support and develop strategy to plan and disseminate materials and deliverables through appropriate communication channels<\/li>
  • Utilize project management skills for proactive communication with clients and team members, documenting project progress and meetings, tracking and reporting progress on project milestones, understanding client needs, developing appropriate timelines and processes, seeking feedback, and delivering above-satisfactory deliverables and work products<\/li>
  • Learn and understand a wide variety of subject matter related to client industries<\/li>
  • Think critically and demonstrate true problem-solving skills with a willingness to \u201croll up your sleeves\u201d and complete tasks and projects with minimal oversight<\/li>
  • Serve as a trusted client resource and uphold the firm\u2019s reputation by remaining client-focused and committed to delivering above and beyond expectations<\/li><\/ul>

    Qualifications include:<\/span><\/p>

    • Bachelor\u2019s degree in mass communication, public relations, English, journalism, communication studies, or a related field<\/li>
    • One to three years of experience in communication, marketing, journalism, public relations, public outreach, communications consulting, or related experience that clearly demonstrates comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities<\/li>
    • Experience working for an advertising or public relations agency a plus<\/li>
    • Demonstrated skills in content development and copy editing, with expertise in AP and related style guidelines<\/li>
    • Ability to conceptualize and execute on a variety of communication efforts, including in-person, print, and digital outreach<\/li>
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and commitment to deadlines with ability to manage projects, deadlines, and deliverables<\/li>
    • Personable and eager to build meaningful relationships with team members and clients<\/li>
    • Takes initiative to complete tasks and takes ownership over timelines and work product<\/li>
    • Ability to multitask, shifting from project to project and balancing competing priorities<\/li>
    • Willingness to learn new skills and adopt new methodologies; openminded and accepting of feedback<\/li>
    • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Access<\/li>
    • Experience working in Adobe InDesign a plus<\/li><\/ul>
