This individual will serve as a storyteller, using student and teacher profiles, daily activities and special events as source material, and will also endeavor to keep current families informed and apprised of school news and announcements. The Digital Content Specialist works closely with the Director of Marketing and Strategic Initiatives and collaborates with the Advancement Team, including the Admissions and Development Offices and division-specific offices. A successful candidate will possess exemplary written and verbal communication skills, organizational and multitasking abilities and abundant creativity and flexibility.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Essential Duties and Responsibilities<\/b><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Email<\/span><\/p><ul style=\"font-weight: 400\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Assist with the content, layout, approval process, editing and programmed delivery of communications sent through Mailchimp.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Manage the school\u2019s correspondence calendar to prioritize key messages and balance the number of emails parents receive in any given week.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Upload and manage Mailchimp audiences, tags and segments for division-, employee- and donor-specific communications; monitor unsubscribes and bounces.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Track email metrics and make recommendations for areas of change and needed attention.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Social Media<\/span><\/p><ul style=\"font-weight: 400\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Create and design social media content, including posts, stories, reels, link shares and captions for the school\u2019s Instagram and Facebook accounts, engaging a strategy centered around enrollment, retention and thought leadership goals, as well as uniform coverage of all divisions.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Manage a calendar of planned posts based on the school\u2019s internal activities and marketing priorities.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Identify opportunities for organic, unscheduled posts.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Maintain a voice and approach consistent with St. George\u2019s mission, thought leadership and emphasis on community and core values.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Receive and monitor teacher newsletters and blogs, attend scheduled activities and ceremonies and visit classrooms for content.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Monitor accounts for messages and comments, interacting whenever possible with a goal for nurturing relationships and a positive view of the school.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Website<\/span><\/p><ul style=\"font-weight: 400\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Post refreshed content and all necessary updates to the school\u2019s website with particular attention to the needs of prospective parents and enrolled families.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Collaborate with admissions, development, athletics and division-specific teams to receive, proofread and layout website updates for their pages.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Contribute to the posting of blogs and school news updates to increase SEO.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Photography and Videography<\/span><\/p><ul style=\"font-weight: 400\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Use a DSLR camera, cell phone and other tools for engaging and publication-worthy photography and videography; support the school\u2019s goal for increased short-form video.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Maintain excellent records of all photography using the school&#8217;s Google Drive system and ensure all team members can access materials and are correctly filed in a timely manner.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Develop a system for consistently sharing photos with parents and guardians following events.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Flexibly attend after-hours events for school traditions, events and activities.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Miscellaneous<\/span><\/p><ul style=\"font-weight: 400\"><li style=\"list-style-type: none\"><ul style=\"font-weight: 400\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Create in-house graphics for the website, email communications and events (e.g. banners or digital invitations) utilizing Canva and the Adobe Suite.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Contribute to the design, proofreading and production of print publications, including the annual yearbook and magazine, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Accolade<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Stay abreast of new tools and platforms and best practices within the world of digital communication and independent school communications.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing and Strategic Initiatives.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Qualification Requirements<\/b><\/p><ul style=\"font-weight: 400\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bachelor\u2019s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design or public relations; an education or humanities degree will be considered with experience in school communications and\/or marketing.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Exemplary communication, writing and visual design abilities;
