The Times-Picayune, a Pulitzer Prize-winning news organization dedicated to the New Orleans area, is looking for a talented and driven reporter to cover St. Tammany Parish.<\/p>

About the Role:<\/strong>\u00a0St. Tammany Parish, located on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain, is one of Louisiana’s fastest-growing areas. It has transitioned from a bedroom community to a vibrant economic hub with a growing business and industrial base. This dynamic environment offers a wealth of compelling stories for an ambitious reporter.<\/p>

As part of a dedicated two-person team, you will cover key beats such as growth and development, politics, criminal justice, education, and more. Your role will involve breaking news, developing in-depth enterprise stories, and engaging with the community.<\/p>

Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>

  • Break news and develop complex enterprise stories.<\/li>
  • Manage a mix of deadline-driven stories and enterprise.<\/li>
  • Engage readers across digital and print platforms while maintaining high standards of fairness and accuracy.<\/li>
  • Collaborate effectively within a dynamic newsroom environment.<\/li><\/ul>

    Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>

    • Proven experience covering a beat.<\/li>
    • A strong track record of breaking news and developing enterprise stories.<\/li>
    • Proficiency in digital journalism and multimedia storytelling.<\/li>
    • Ability to balance immediate reporting with enterprise work.<\/li>
    • Commitment to engaging readers and upholding journalistic integrity.<\/li><\/ul>
