While FFL was established in the wake of these disasters, our founders recognized the need to address the longstanding inequities that have contributed to the life outcomes of the most marginalized of Louisianans for centuries. Our programs grew in response to these needs, and today FFL focuses on philanthropic leadership, racial justice, climate justice, criminal legal reform, economic opportunity, LGBTQ justice, and support for Louisiana&#8217;s vibrant arts and culture via a three-pronged strategy:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Invest:<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> FFL makes grants and loans to support organizations and movements throughout Louisiana in our key program areas. We attract and invest resources to support on-the-ground projects, many of which can\u2019t access traditional philanthropy. Through fiscal sponsorship, we support innovative ideas responding to unmet needs throughout Louisiana.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Build:<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> We build power to effect change in Louisiana communities. We convene community leaders and provide training in organizing, policy change, leadership, public speaking, and facilitation to tackle issues of climate change, police accountability, health disparities, housing access, and more.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Transform:<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> By fortifying movements, we shift systems and shape regional and national narratives. We re-imagine how our communities are governed and funded to redefine how residents can thrive in them.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Since inception, FFL has invested $60 million in more than 260 mission-critical nonprofit organizations working across the state toward building a more just Louisiana. As a social justice philanthropic intermediary, FFL\u2019s work unapologetically advances racial justice while moving Louisiana forward. The foundation engages communities in both program co-design as well as its grant-making process to expand opportunities and move communities towards a more just future.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>POSITION OVERVIEW<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Communications Manager is a mid-level, operational role focused on executing and coordinating Foundation for Louisiana\u2019s communication strategies. This position plays a critical role in storytelling, platform management, and digital infrastructure to ensure consistent, compelling, and equity-centered communications across FFL\u2019s platforms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Communications Manager does not have supervisory responsibilities but collaborates closely with internal teams, contractors, and vendors. This role supports content development, manages digital communications tools, tracks analytics, and ensures alignment with FFL\u2019s strategic narrative.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">All Foundation for Louisiana employees are currently working remotely. While the Communications Manager can be based anywhere in the state, some work may be required in New Orleans when conditions allow.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The following is a summary of the duties required:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Maintain a strong brand voice across platforms and develop targeted messaging for different audiences.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Develop and implement editorial calendars, social media schedules, and marketing infrastructure.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Draft and edit content for online, print, audio, and video platforms, including newsletters, social media, and web copy.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Collaborate with colleagues to create stories and messages that advance FFL\u2019s mission in areas like climate justice, racial justice, gender justice, and criminal legal reform.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Manage digital communications systems including the website CMS, analytics platforms, and social scheduling tools.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Monitor and report analytics of web and social media performance; use data to inform strategy.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Support production logistics for campaigns and communications-related events.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Work with vendors and contractors to deliver high-quality design, media, and digital outputs.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>REQUIRED COMPETENCIES<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In addition to having deep knowledge of Louisiana, and respect for its people, you have:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">2\u20134 years of experience in communications, digital marketing, or nonprofit storytelling.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Demonstrated ability to translate complex justice-focused work into compelling content.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Experience using analytics tools to grow audiences and evaluate engagement.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Strong organizational, time management, and project coordination skills.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Proficient written,
