Since its founding in 1910, the mission of the Greater Shreveport Chamber has been to promote economic prosperity, serve as a business advocate, and celebrate the achievements of the Shreveport-Bossier region. With over 1100 members, the Chamber has earned designation as a 5-Star Accredited Chamber by the US Chamber of Commerce, one of less than 2% of Chambers across the country honored with this distinction.<\/p>\n

I. JOB SUMMARY:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reporting to the President, the Director of Marketing, Communications, and Public Relations is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing all advertising, earned media, social media, website and public relations activities, and collateral for events for the Chamber. Active participation in the Chamber of Commerce functions and events is essential.<\/p>\n

II. RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Design and implement the Chamber\u2019s marketing and public relations activities.<\/li>\n
  • Manage the Chamber\u2019s weekly newsletter content and approach.<\/li>\n
  • Design and produce marketing materials, event signage and other collateral.<\/li>\n
  • Write and edit content for print publications, email newsletters and web site.<\/li>\n
  • Manage the Chamber\u2019s social media presence to increase impact and reach<\/li>\n
  • Create and implement communications strategies to support the Chamber\u2019s goals.<\/li>\n
  • Provide overall strategic direction for the content and design of the Chamber\u2019s website.<\/li>\n
  • Ensure Chamber events are documented with photo and video shoots as appropriate, perform editing and online distribution.<\/li>\n
  • Assist with Chamber events including coordinating videos and presentations.<\/li>\n
  • Edit interview and event videos for major events<\/li>\n
  • Maintain graphics and photograph files.<\/li>\n
  • Coordinate the annual print publication and manage print publication vendor.<\/li>\n
  • Identify and recommend strategic partnership opportunities<\/li>\n
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community influencers and strategic partners.<\/li>\n
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing programs and provide recommendations for future strategies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    III. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Bachelor\u2019s degree in Journalism, Marketing, Business or a related field<\/li>\n
    • 3 years experience working in marketing and communications, public relations<\/li>\n
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills<\/li>\n
    • Excellent written and oral aptitude and strong interpersonal skills<\/li>\n
    • Experience working in a creative environment with overlapping projects and deadlines<\/li>\n
    • Experience with Microsoft Suite applications<\/li>\n
    • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, Acrobat<\/li>\n
    • Experience with social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn<\/li>\n
    • Expertise in web\/graphic design and hands-on knowledge of WordPress .<\/li>\n
    • Experience managing print vendors<\/li>\n
    • Photography and videography experience including video and photo editing<\/li>\n
    • Experience working with clients to create advertising collateral and large-scale advertisements like street banners and publicity tents.<\/li>\n
    • Self-directed with strong organizational, management, and administrative skills.<\/li>\n
    • Professional manner, positive attitude and the ability to interface with diverse groups.<\/li>\n
    • Professional appearance and public image presentation.<\/li>\n
    • Experience working for a membership organization or a chamber of commerce, preferred<\/li>\n
