This role serves as the creative force behind our messaging and visibility efforts \u2014 from managing the Career Center\u2019s online presence to coordinating how we show up at events both large and small. The Coordinator plays a key role in planning and promoting outreach across platforms like <b>Instagram, Handshake, and campus signage<\/b>, while also spearheading our presence in spaces like <b>Welcome Week, Orientation, Fall Fest<\/b>, and <b>Free Speech Alley<\/b>. Every interaction we have with students should communicate care, relevance, polish, and attention to detail. We work to ensure every space, place, and staff-to-student interaction <b>communicates a sense of home<\/b> to students. Finally, we design programs, services, events, and experiences with <b>everyone in mind<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><u><b>RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/b><\/u><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Social Media &amp; Digital Communications \u2013 40%<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and manage content strategy for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.<\/li>\n<li>Create and schedule engaging posts, stories, reels, and campaigns tied to key events, deadlines, and themes.<\/li>\n<li>Write and send targeted Handshake mailers that promote events, resources, and key messages.<\/li>\n<li>Update and maintain website content and digital signage to keep materials timely and relevant.<\/li>\n<li>Track engagement metrics and refine digital strategy to maximize student reach and interaction.<\/li>\n<li>Works Collaboratively with the Office of Communication and University Relations and adheres to the standards set therein.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0Student Engagement &amp; Campus Outreach \u2013 35%<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create and lead an <b>annual outreach strategy<\/b> that includes both <b>high-impact events<\/b> (e.g. Welcome Week, Orientation, Fall Fest, Enrollment events) and <b>smaller-scale visibility efforts<\/b> (e.g. Free Speech Alley tables, class drop-ins, student org collabs).<\/li>\n<li>Tailor promotional strategies by event type \u2014 e.g., tabling vs. fairs vs. info sessions \u2014 to meet specific audience goals.<\/li>\n<li>Develop branded campaigns that support Career Center initiatives and increase name recognition.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate with internal staff and external partners to plan event logistics, promotional materials, and staffing.<\/li>\n<li>Seek out new opportunities to bring Career Center resources into student-centered spaces on campus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Internal Communications &amp; Departmental Support \u2013 20%<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage and respond to inquiries through shared accounts (e.g. career@lsu.edu).<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and update internal promotional inventories, including printed resources, event displays, and tabling supplies.<\/li>\n<li>Support departmental documentation of outreach impact and engagement metrics for internal reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Order and manage branded materials (giveaways, signage, swag, printed collateral).<\/li>\n<li>Support internal communications related to program promotion, employer updates, and team messaging.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to storytelling projects like student success features, coach interviews, and employer highlights.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Other Duties \u2013 5%<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in major Division of Student Affairs events (e.g. Move-In Day, Family Weekend, Disability Services Finals Testing, etc. \u2014 minimum of 40 hours annually).<\/li>\n<li>Support the Communications Manager and broader Career Center goals as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><u><b>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<\/b><\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in communications, marketing, graphic design, public relations, or a related field.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of one-year part-time related experience. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>LSU values skills, experience, and expertise.
