Music Academy

The Nicholls Music Academy is open to all levels of study. Students will receive 12 weekly lessons throughout the semester and will be able to participate in a final recital on the stage of the Mary and Al Danos Theater.

Our Instructors

Academy students may study with interns or Music Faculty. ┬áNicholls State University music majors will participate as interns in the academy. The interns’ instruction and progress will be overseen by a member of the Nicholls music faculty. This will include selection of the student’s repertoire as well as diagnosing and finding solutions for individual student’s problems.

Private Lessons Offered

Brass – trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba

Woodwinds – flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone

Percussion – snare, marimba

Strings – violin, viola

Piano, Voice


Each 12-week session consists of one weekly lesson and the end of semester recital.

Intern-led 45-minute weekly lessons: $180/semester
Intern-led one-hour lessons: $240/semester
Faculty one-hour lessons: $420/semester

*Each student must pay an additional $65 administrative fee.
