The latter may be eligible for additional aid if their current award is less than the maximum amount allowed.<\/p>\n<p>To begin the application process, students must complete the appropriate form, accessible at www.nicholls.edu\/finaid\/oil. Applicants must then contact the Office of Financial Aid at (985) 448-4048 to schedule a meeting with a counselor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are closely monitoring the ongoing oil disaster in the Gulf as well as its impact on a large percentage of the students we serve,\u201d Courtney Cassard, director of enrollment services, said. \u201cNicholls is committed to helping our students and their families get through this catastrophe and accomplish their academic goals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Nicholls Counseling  Center is also available for oil spill-related assistance.
