<\/p>\nTHIBODAUX – Christopher H. Riviere – attorney, Thibodaux native and 1978 graduate of Nicholls State University – has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Nicholls State University Foundation. <\/p>\n
A 27-year veteran of the south Louisiana legal arena, Riviere and his wife Brenda are both longstanding members of the foundation as well as the Nicholls Alumni Association, continually contributing to various educational and community causes. He was instrumental in the establishment of the Clarence J. Riviere endowed professorship in the College of Business Administration, and he taught for nine years as an adjunct lecturer in law at Nicholls.<\/p>\n
In private practice, he represents numerous individual clients as well as business and industry clients with an emphasis on commercial, marine, agricultural and business litigation.\u00c2\u00a0Riviere is also an accomplished mediator.<\/p>\n
“I am very proud to be a graduate of Nicholls,” he said. “This university prepared both Brenda and me for successful careers. I am one of four siblings, each one of whom attended Nicholls for undergraduate school, and all of whom went on to graduate school.”<\/p>\n
Dr. David Boudreaux, liaison to the foundation and vice president for institutional advancement, said he “looks forward to serving Chris in his capacity as a board member.<\/p>\n
He has already provided valuable assistance in developing funding for scholarships and in growing membership in the foundation. I know that it will be a real pleasure to work with him.”Riviere lives in Thibodaux with his wife. They have four children: Henry, George, Andrew and Michelle.<\/p>\n
