{"id":6707,"date":"2018-05-08T17:17:46","date_gmt":"2018-05-08T22:17:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/?p=6707"},"modified":"2018-05-08T17:17:46","modified_gmt":"2018-05-08T22:17:46","slug":"nicholls-to-hold-crawfish-boil-in-memory-of-alum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/2018\/05\/08\/nicholls-to-hold-crawfish-boil-in-memory-of-alum\/","title":{"rendered":"Nicholls to hold crawfish boil in memory of alum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">THIBODAUX, La. &#8212; <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Nicholls State University Department of Biological Sciences invites you to eat crawfish and support student opportunities while honoring the memory of a former student this Saturday. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The annual Rachel Ianni Crawfish Boil and Cajun Music Jam will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 12 at the Nicholls Farm. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A former biology graduate student with a reputation for being a hard-working researcher, Ianni (MBS \u201811) was killed when she slipped and fell into a steep ravine while hiking Machu Picchu. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The event is free but attendees are asked to make a $35 donation at the door.
