Nicholls Chemistry department head Dr. Chad Young hopes his students, as well as members of the community, can learn from the practices developed by Dr. Broome. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cDr. Broome is an excellent teacher, scholar and speaker,\u201d said Dr. Chad Young, Nicholls Chemistry department head. \u201cOur faculty are devoted to the best education, and this seminar will help to equip them in that endeavor.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Since implementation two years ago at Southern Miss, the rate of students receiving Ds, Fs and incompletes, or who have withdrawn from the course has been reduced by more than 15 percent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dr. Broome will present \u201cRejuvenating General Chemistry Instruction: A Methodical, Evidence-Based Approach\u201d from noon to 1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, in Beauregard 165.
