With the latest $10,000 donation, Entergy has contributed $50,000 to the initiative.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEducation is the cornerstone for a successful Louisiana,\u201d said Phillip May, Entergy Louisiana president and CEO. \u201cWe\u2019re a proud partner of the Tour Tuesday program and I can\u2019t think of&nbsp; a more worthwhile endeavor than investing in the future of our students.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nicholls works with guidance counselors at the high schools to identify first-generation and low-income high school students who meet Nicholls admissions standards. Those students are then transported to campus where they are given a tour and an overview of academic programs and student organizations. Interested students will meet with admissions counselors who help them fill out an application and financial aid forms.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEntergy has been a valuable partner to Nicholls State University and the Bayou Region for many years,\u201d said Dr. Sue Westbrook, provost and vice president for academic affairs. \u201cFor many first-generation students, the idea of college can seem foreign or unattainable.
