All proceeds will fund scholarships for culinary students to travel and complete an internship in Africa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With the proceeds from last year\u2019s fundraising event, the institute was able to send former student Kearstin Foster to Abidjan, a city on the southern Atlantic coast of Cote d&#8217;Ivoire in West Africa, for a summer internship where she learned the culture and cuisine, eventually going on to work for a restaurant in Chicago. This year, the institute would like to send another one of its students to Africa in hopes that he or she will have an amazing learning and networking experience, just as Kearstin did.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tickets are $100 per person and can be purchased by calling Bonnie Templeton at 985-493-2700 or emailing at <\/span><a href=\"mailto:bonnie.templeton@nicholls.edu\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">bonnie.templeton@nicholls.edu<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Chef John Folse Culinary Institute at Nicholls State University offers real-world industry and global experiences to 100% of its students. Nicholls is currently the only post-secondary institution in Louisiana to offer a four-year culinary degree. There are 11 concentrations that prepare students for a variety of career paths, allowing students to customize the curriculum that best suits them for their dream careers.
