LSBN Information

The Louisiana State Board of Nursing (LSBN) exists to “safeguard the life and health of the citizens of Louisiana by assuring persons practicing as registered nurses and advanced practice registered nurses are competent and safe.” To accomplish this mission, all students applying to any clinical nursing program in the state of Louisiana must complete the Application for Permission to Enroll in a Clinical Nursing Course. This application will be provided at the Nursing Information Session that you attend.

Prior serious criminal actions and/or substance use disorders may result in denial or delay of permission to enroll in a clinical nursing program. Students intending to seek admission into a clinical nursing program should review the LSBN Rule regarding such actions prior to seeking admission.
