COVID-19 Student Support

Dear Students,

We know these are trying times with lots of change for all of you. We want you to know we are here for you. We have started several initiatives to help you with some of the most common needs we’ve heard from you.

  1. Thanks to the generosity of the Nicholls Foundation’s fundraising efforts, we are able to help students in dire situations through the Nicholls Campus Emergency Fund. You may need things such as a webcam to complete your coursework or assistance with meals. This fund will provide assistance to those with the greatest need.
  2. Our Colonel Care Coaches are a network of on-campus professionals who will provide support and connect you with helpful resources in these stressful times. 
  3. Colonels Connect is an online Google Meets Hangout every Monday through Friday at 1 p.m. Any student can join using the provided link or phone number. Student facilitators, your peers,  will be online each day sharing tips and hints that have worked for them in the new virtual learning environment. A Student Affairs staff member will also be there if students have additional questions.

  1.   Lastly, we have appointed an Ombudsperson to help you through any situations that may arise during this online transition that you can’t seem to get resolved or are unsure of where to go to seek a resolution.
