Please follow the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/student-access-center\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/105\/2026\/04\/Documentation-Guidelines-Locked.docx\">Documentation Guidelines (.docx).<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Intake Meeting:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 After the Student Access Center (SAC) Director reviews the Registration form and documentation, she will contact the student to schedule an intake meeting. The intake meeting will allow the student to present functional limitations, past accommodations, and current needs. The student will also have the opportunity to request reasonable accommodations to ensure equal access to University programs and activities.\u00a0 Throughout the registration process, questions are expected and welcome.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Next Steps: <\/b>Following the intake meeting, the SAC Director will review your documentation and contact you as soon as possible with a decision via your Nicholls Gmail account. The email will guide you to log into the AIM (Accessible Information Management) portal to complete your next steps: signing your SAC Agreements, reviewing your Letter of Accommodations, and formally requesting accommodations for your classes.<\/li><\/ol><h3><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">*Requests for accommodations can occur at any time; however, some accommodations may take time to establish (e-text, ASL\/CART services). Providing notice one or two months in advance is ideal.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students needing assistance in completing forms should contact the staff at the Student Access Center. All publications and forms are available upon request, in hard copy or alternate formats through the SAC.<\/span><\/p><h3><b>Appeal<\/b><\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If a student does not agree with a SAC decision regarding an accommodation, the student may complete the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/student-access-center\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/105\/2026\/05\/Grievance.docx\">Student Access Center Grievance Procedure Form (.docx)<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nicholls State University has adopted an internal grievance procedure providing for prompt and equitable resolution of complaints alleging any action prohibited by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (29 USC 794) or Section 202 of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (42 USC 12132).
