Participating in verified off-campus research competitions<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">2. Academic faculty&#8217;s external scholastic presentations<\/span><\/p><p><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Nicholls faculty and students who need to have a poster printed in order to participate in <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">research presentations should complete using the &#8220;Schedule Appointment&#8221; link <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">below.<\/span><\/p><p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Requests for poster printing must be made within 24 hours of the <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">scheduled printing appointment.<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">* Please note that only one poster is permitted for each student\/faculty or <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">group.<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Please be sure to thoroughly review the poster design and content prior to giving <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the approval to print to the Makerspace staff.<\/span><\/p><p>Appointments can only be made on weekdays between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm from August 1<sup>st<\/sup> through May 31<sup>st<\/sup> of each Make sure all photos and images you import into PowerPoint are 300ppi or the images may print out blurry. Please Avoid solid dark color or solid black backgrounds. Stop in the makerspace for more information on print quality and design help. <\/strong><\/p><p><strong>If using Power Point, the first thing you want to do when designing your poster is set up the size. SIZE<\/strong><\/h4><p><strong>The two paper sizes we have are Ledger (11&#215;17&#8243;) and 36&#8243; wide. Your poster will end up with extra white space if it is not 36&#8243; along one side. \u00a0Here is an example of how a 36&#8243;x48&#8243; poster will fit the 36&#8243; paper. Most people print 36&#8243;(width) x 48&#8243; (height), but you could do something smaller by using something like 36&#8243; (width) x 42&#8243;(height).
