Student Employment Opportunities

We hire for the following positions as needed:

  • Info Desk Assistant
    • Supports and daily activities and events occurring in the Student Union, checks VIP set-ups
    • Serves as a resource to Student Union guests by providing information and answering questions
    • Coordinates Student Union recycling efforts
    • Assists with lost and found items and completes appropriate paperwork
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Works evening and weekend hours as needed
    • Attends weekly set-up meetings on a rotation.
  • Reservations’ Office Assistant
    • Answers phone, greets customers, records payments
    • Creates and tweaks reservations in EMS
    • Creates and tweaks OT forms, WO forms
    • Works weekdays
    • Attends set-up meetings as needed
    • Update Campus Events calendar and AXIS digital monitors
  • Facilities Maintenance Assistant
    • Performs custodial functions such as sweeping, mopping, general cleaning
    • Assists with maintenance functions in the Student Union including deep cleaning, painting, and repair of furniture resources
    • Monitors building and facility maintenance needs and works with supervisor top generate work orders
    • Executes and ensures room set-ups in accordance with daily work orders
    • Executes and ensures proper furniture set-up
    • Executes and ensures proper audio visual equipment set-up and breakdown including public address systems (PA), projectors, microphones, portable screens, etc.
  • Event Manager
    • Executes and ensures room and furniture set-ups in accordance with daily work orders
    • Executes and ensures proper audio visual equipment set-up and breakdown including public address systems (PA), projectors, microphones, portable screens, etc.
    • Operates minor to mid-level audio visual equipment such as:
      • amplifiers, monitors and speakers
      • Hard-wired and wireless microphones, lapel microphones, etc.
      • Overhead projectors and data projectors, portable screens, etc.
      • TV monitors, VCR and DVD players
    • Trouble-shoots audio visual equipment and makes minor repairs
    • Occasionally provides direction to other student employees regarding preparation and set up of meeting rooms
    • Assists events sponsors in their use of the facility and serves as the liaison to sponsors during events
    • Attends weekly set-up meetings on a rotation.
  • Building Manager
    • Supervises the operation of the Student Union in the absence of full-time staff
    • Supports and ensures daily activities and events occurring in the Student Union
    • Executes and ensures room set-ups in accordance with daily work orders
    • Interprets and enforces Student Union policies and procedures
    • Serves as a resource to Student Union guests, as well as employees
    • Responds appropriately to a variety of emergency situations including but not limited to medical emergencies, fire, civil disturbances and acts of nature
    • Generates written and detailed reports of all activities occurring during work shift, including unusual situations and circumstances
    • Performs custodial functions such as sweeping, mopping, general cleaning
    • Assists with maintenance functions in the Student Union including deep cleaning, painting, and repair of furniture resources
    • Monitors building and facility maintenance needs and works with supervisor top generate work orders
    • Executes and ensures room set-ups in accordance with daily work orders
    • Executes and ensures proper furniture set-up
    • Executes and ensures proper audio visual equipment set-up and breakdown including public address systems (PA), projectors, microphones, portable screens, etc.
    • Attends weekly set-up meetings on a rotation.
