ABOUT US
The Colonel Athletic Association is the principal fundraising organization of the Nicholls State University Athletics Department.
The CAA has provided a way for alumni, family, friends, and fans to help Nicholls student-athletes receive an education, while also pursuing their dreams on and off the field of competition. While the primary focus is to provide opportunities and support to Nicholls Athletics’ most important assets, its people, the CAA is also focused on raising funds for facility enhancements and operational expenses.

Anyone interested in support Nicholls State University Athletics and its student-athletes on and off the field should join the CAA! Many of our donors attended the University, but you do not have to be an alum or former student-athlete to support the Colonels!
If you choose to designate your gift to a specific sport or project, we encourage you to do so! Several sports have booster clubs with a multitude of benefits separate and aside from CAA. However, if you choose to designate your funds to a specific sport, those dollars will only count towards a Varsity level CAA membership. An upgrade to Starter, Letterman, Captain, All American or Hall of Fame will require an additional donation.
If you are a member of a Booster Club, CAA Upgrades are as follows: Starter $200, Letterman $350, Captain $850, All American $2,350, Hall of Fame $4,850
Nicholls Athletics relies on the generous support of donors like you to support each of our 17 Division 1 sports teams, cheer squad, athletic trainers, and 350+ student athletes. Every donor makes a difference and your gift, regardless of size, has a direct impact on all student-athletes here at Nicholls. It is imperative that our student-athletes receive the support they need to compete and succeed at the highest level. Gifts to the CAA help provide the funds necessary to cover the total cost of excellence for our students. In scholarship dollars alone, the bill exceeds $3.5 million annually and takes up a significant amount of Nicholls Athletics’ annual operating budget.
Outside of that, CAA funds are also spent on scholarship support, academic support, facility enhancements to helping current Colonel student-athletes succeed in the classroom and in competition, and provide critical support to recruiting high potential recruits, salary supplements, and other operational needs.
Memberships can be paid in full or by installment. All contributions to the CAA are recognized on a July 1st to June 30th fiscal year.

As an affiliate of the Nicholls Foundation, CAA maintains a 501C3 status. Depending on how your funds are designated, some contributions to CAA are tax-deductible less the value of goods and services received.
Many employers have matching gift programs that could double or triple your gift. Ask your employer if they have a Corporate Matching Gift program.

The Colonel Athletic Association offers (6) membership levels with various corresponding benefits to the donor. Any person interested in joining the CAA can do so with cash, check, or credit card. Memberships can be paid in full or by installment. All contributions to the CAA are recognized on a July 1st to June 30th fiscal year.
