Statistical process control principles and methods used in manufacturing, including frequency distributions, control charts, management methods and metrology. (15.0702)

MNTC 211. Quality Control Computational Laboratory. 1-0-3. Prerequisites: MATH 101 and MNTC 110. Co-registration: MNTC 210. Laboratory experience using EXCEL and other software packages to solve statistics problems and do statistical process control charts. (15.0702)

MNTC 215. Production Planning and Control. 3-3-0. Prerequisite: MATH 102. Production planning, including time series analysis, inventory systems, project planning, scheduling, and operations sequencing will be examined. MNTC 446. Manufacturing Processes Laboratory II. 1-0-3. Prerequisites: MNTC 360. Co-registration: MNTC 445, 447. Use of common forming tools to punch, shape, and form pipe, rod, bar, plate, and sheet to desired shapes. Joining of shapes by rivets/bolts, adhesive and fusion joining. (15.0613)

MNTC 447. Metal Forming. 2-2-0. Prerequisite: EGTC 415. Co-registration: MNTC 445, 446, or permission of department head. Industrial forming and shaping processes, process planning, and equipment including rolling, forging, drawing, extrusion, sheet metal, and plate bending. (15.0613)

MNTC 450. Manufacturing/Fabrication Capstone. 3-3-0. Prerequisites: MNTC 370, concurrent enrollment in MNTC 498. Principles and practices of ship production including shipbuilding processes, fabrication methods, material handling, accuracy control, material and direct labor estimating, facility layout, production control, and group technology as related to ships, offshore structures, and floating plants.
