FREN 309. Children’s Literature. 3-3-0. A study of the French cultural heritage of Louisiana in stories, songs, rhymes, games and folklore. (16.0901)

FREN 310. Francophone Culture and Civilization. 3-3-0. Aspects of the culture and civilization of Francophone countries. May be repeated for credit if content differs. (16.0901)

FREN 313. Practical Linguistics. 3-3-0. Prerequisite: FREN 202 or permission of department head. Introduction to and intensive practice in the techniques and skills needed in foreign language-related careers, including literary and commercial translation, professional writing, editing, and communication skills. FREN 324. Advanced French Language Skills Through Immersion. 3-0-6. Prerequisite: French 202 or permission of instructor. French language skills improve through language immersion and course work at a qualifying institution in a French speaking country.   Students refine conversation skills and review grammar while living and studying in a French speaking country. FREN 326. Advanced French Grammar and Composition II. 3-3-0 Prerequisite, FREN 325 or permission of instructor. French syntax, grammar, and idioms. Critical analysis of French texts. (16.0901)

FREN 330. Advanced French Conversation. 3-3-0. Prerequisite: FREN 202 or sufficient score on placement test. Intensive practice in spoken French and vocabulary building. Conversation themes will vary and may include news and current events, film, music, literature, anthropology, and geography. (16.0901)

FREN 350. Introduction to Commercial French. 3-3-0. Prerequisite: FREN 202 or satisfactory score on placement test. Specialized vocabulary, business communication, cultural differences in the French-speaking business world. (16.0901)
