On July 30, founding members of the Cajun Music Preservation Society (CMPS) attended the EPA’s Gulf Guardian Awards at the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi to receive their award in the Environmental Justice/Cultural Diversity Division.  The CMPS has made substantial efforts to support students minoring in Bayou Studies by helping to establish a scholarship fund with the Nicholls Foundation. For more information on how you can contribute, contact Dr. Quenton Fontenot (quenton.fontenot@nicholls.edu) or attend an upcoming CMPS Jam Session, hosted every other Wednesday in downtown Thibodaux.
