BSAD 200. Supervision. 3-3-0. Prerequisite: Sophomore standing. An investigation of the tasks and responsibilities faced by the first line supervisor. Cannot be applied toward a Bachelor degree in the College of Business Administration. (52.0204)

BSAD 201. Management of Small Business. 3-3-0. Prerequisite: Sophomore standing. Problems related to small business firms in general management and the functional areas of personnel, finance, production, control, marketing and organization. BSAD 202. Personal Finance. 3-3-0. Prerequisite: Sophomore standing. Survey course that covers the following areas: budgeting, personal credit management, taxes, insurance, investment planning, and estate planning. Not open to Juniors or Seniors in the College of Business Administration. (52.0804)

BSAD 221. Legal Environment of Business. 3-3-0. Prerequisite: Sophomore standing. Relationships among legal, political, and business environments; sources of law and their effects on business decisions; constitutional, administrative, and civil procedure; employment, environmental, and consumer law; social, ethical, and international facets of the legal environment. BSAD 241. Honors Legal Environment of Business. 3-3-0. Prerequisite: Sophomore standing and Honors placement or permission of department head. Exploration of the relationships among legal, political, and business environments through current events and real-world observation while utilizing written and oral communication skills; relevant areas of law and their practical application to business decisions including constitutional law, torts, intellectual property, civil procedure, employment law, and discrimination in the workplace. BSAD 295. Seminar for International Students. 3-3-0. Prerequisite: Sophomore standing. A course to acquaint international students with the American business, political and social environments. It is not open to American students. May be repeated for credit if content differs. (52.0101)

BSAD 310. Business Communications. 3-3-0. Prerequisites: C or better in ENGL 102 and completion of  54 hours of non-developmental coursework. Fundamental business communication theory, business letters, and reports. (52.0501)

BSAD 320. Study Abroad. 6-6-6. Prerequisite:  Completion of  54 hours of non-developmental coursework and permission of Study Abroad Program Coordinator. Intensive study of business and culture in a foreign country. Requires travel the the foreign country. (52.0101)

BSAD 324. Commercial Law. 3-3-0. Prerequisite: Completion of  54 hours of non-developmental coursework. Legal concepts relating to contracts, agency, sales of goods, commercial paper, bankruptcy, security interests, partnerships and corporations; application of the Uniform Commercial Code. (52.0101)

BSAD 325. Admiralty Law. 33-0. Prerequisite: Completion of 54 hours of non-developmental coursework. Historical and jurisdictional perspective of maritime law; sources of maritime law and its relationship to land-based laws; uniformity; maritime law as it pertains to commerce, vessel ownership and operation, marine contracts, cargo, torts, employment, the environment, liens, salvage and navigation; maritime practice and procedure. BSAD 486. Special Topics in Business Law. 3-3-0. Prerequisite: Permission of instructor. Selected current topics in business law. May be repeated once for credit if content differs. (52.0101)

BSAD 490.  Strategically Managing Organizations. 3-3-0. Prerequisites: C or better in BSAD 310 or ENGL 310; FINC 302; MNGT 301; and MKTG 300. Must be taken in last 18 hours of coursework. Open to business majors only. Capstone course integrating management and business functions in a problem-solving environment. Top management point of view is stressed. Long range commitments of capital and human resources and how such decisions are made. (52.0201)

BSAD 501. Quantitative Business Analysis & Decision Support. 3-3-0. Prerequisite: QBA 282 or equivalent. Foundations of statistical methods for business analysis and decision making. Special topics covered include data collection; types of data; graphical analysis; descriptive statistics; frequency distributions; random variables; probability distributions; sampling distributions; estimation; hypothesis testing; correlation; linear regression; forecasting. BSAD 505. Directed Study in Business. 3-3-0. Directed study in an area of business under the direction of a graduate faculty member. Credit toward graduation will not be given for both BSAD 505 and BSAD 596. May be repeated for credit if content differs. (52.0101)

BSAD 507. Leadership, Ethics & Accountability. 3-3-0. Examines leadership as the integrating force in the functional areas of a business enterprise.   Key areas of study are (a) developing organizational goals and strategic plans, and (b) guiding, developing and motivating the people within the organization.   Contemporary leadership studies blend strategic thinking and psychological/behavioral aspects to achieve organizational goals within ethical frameworks. BSAD 520. Special Topics in Business. 3-3-0. In-depth treatment of special topics in the business disciplines. Content of the course varies with each offering. May be repeated for credit if content differs. (52-0201)

BSAD 525. Managing Strategic Resources for Competitive Advantage. 3-3-0. Prerequisites: C or better in each of the following courses: ECON 500, MKTG 501, MNGT 502 and FINC 515. Formulation and implementation of effective organizational strategy in the pursuit of a competitive advantage.   The nature of strategy and its relationship with firm performance are stressed.   Content topics include the importance of strategic direction, analyses of internal and external environments, business and corporate-level strategies, and strategy implementation.   A case approach involving the integration of current concepts in all business disciplines. BSAD 596. Master’s Thesis Research. 6-0-12. Enrollment permitted only following formal committee approval of thesis prospectus. S or U will be assigned upon completion of thesis. (52.0101)
