What is the feedback tool?
Every Moodle Page contains a hidden feedback tool. This is a 5 question survey that can be edited. No students can see the survey until you unhide it. If you choose to use the survey, students can take it anonymously to provide feedback on your course.
Why use the feedback tool?
By using the feedback tool you can receive the desired feedback you want that can be more specific to your course compared to the feedback you receive through the university-wide end of semester survey. For exampled you can ask students about specific course policies or assignments. The information you receive from the feedback tool can give you guidance on making small tweaks to improve the course this semester and future improvement goals when you review your course over summer or winter break.
What questions should I ask?
The feedback tool is available pre-populated with very general questions. Please edit these questions to fit your needs. Before you edit the questions, review your course outcomes and student learning outcomes as well as your chosen pedagogies to meet these outcomes to guide your questions. Consider asking open ended questions like “What do enjoy about this course?” “What do you want to see continued in this course?” ” What would you like adjusted for the rest of the semester? “

I used the feedback tool….now what?! ake into consideration the feedback you received
Take into consideration the feedback you received and how you might be able to make small adjustments to address the feedback. There may be some items that you will not be able to address this semester. Acknowledge to students that you read the feedback and highlight any small changes you made to the course. If you can’t make the desired tweaks this semester keep a running list for when you review the course in the future. If the feedback is difficult to address or you need to bounce ideas off of another colleague, feel free to contact the CTE for a consultation.
