Director: Doctor Sara Dempster

Dr. Sara Dempster is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Teacher Education. She was appointed director of the CTE in Spring 2023. Dr. Dempster teaches undergraduate and graduate-level Introduction to Educational Technology courses and serves as the program chair for the Elementary Education program. She brings to the CTE a passion for supporting teaching and helping others learn how to use the tools available to them to increase productivity, student engagement, learning outcomes, and more. She is also the co-host of the Digital Age Teacher Podcast focused on technology tips and solutions for teaching in the digital age. She has presented at state and national conferences on a variety of topics in the field of educational technology.

GRADUATE ASSISTANTS

Ms. Sarah Daniel

Ms. Sarah Daniel is a native of Franklin, LA. She graduated from Nicholls State University in 2022 with her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Sarah is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Higher Administration. Her professional goal is to teach at the Elementary level and one day become a College Professor.

Mr. Justin Hochhalter

Mr. Justin Hochhalter is a native of Belle Chasse, LA. He graduated in 2022 from Nicholls State University with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education: General Science. He is currently working on his Master’s degree in School Counseling.
