Ross Jahnke

Associate Professor of Art (Printmaking)
Education: Contact Information: Ross Jahnke had no intent on becoming a printmaker. He studied painting and drawing as an undergraduate and even in graduate school, until a graduate assistant coaxed him into taking a printmaking course. “By the time I graduated I was splitting my time between making prints and painting, and I have continued to do so,” Jahnke says. Both a printmaker and a painter, Jahnke’s work has been exhibited throughout the United States. He is a recipient of the Louisiana Division of Art Fellowship and has received numerous grants for visual art projects and events. “The Division of Art at Nicholls is like few other art departments,” he says. “The faculty interact extremely well and share ideas with each others. As a result there is interconnectivity among the courses and projects. I have not seen or heard of a better setting in which to teach.” |
