Dr. Amy Hebert is the Director of Student Success and Retention, a role she has had since the summer of 2019. Prior to that, she served 16 years in Academic Services and Interdisciplinary Studies, including Director of the Academic Advising Center for 8 years. This role included coordination of the University Studies 101 and 100 courses including course assessment and planning. Before that, she was the Assistant Director of the Academic Advising Center and a Senior Professional Academic Advisor.
Dr. Hebert was also the director of the 2016 Quality Enhancement Plan: SAM (Student Advising and Mentoring)
Dr. Hebert has over 21 years of professional experience at Nicholls State University. Amy is a two-time Nicholls graduate and a third generation Colonel (after her maternal grandmother and mother). Amy earned her Bachelor of General Studies in 2000 and Master of Education in Higher Education Administration and Supervision in 2008. After a short break in her studies, Amy enrolled at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and earned her PhD in Human Resource Education and Workforce Development with concentrations in higher education, assessment, and program evaluation in 2014.
Amy’s research interests include student success, retention, at-risk interventions, and the first-year experience.
Amy is resides in Thibodaux with her husband Lonnie, son Paul, and furry daughter Margo.
