    The Computer Information Systems Club will host a Game Day, where gamers will compete in a Smash Brothers for Wii U competition for cash prizes. Registration will begin at noon with the competition starting at 1 p.m. The fee for competitors is $15. Anyone can attend to watch and cheer on the players for free.

    Nicholls will kick off Homecoming Week 2016 with a free community block party featuring a pep rally, introduction of the Homecoming Court and live music from Russ Cheramie and 5 Finger Discount. Roundtrip shuttle service will be available for students needing transportation from Nicholls to downtown. Visit nicholls.edu/homecoming to sign up; the deadline to register for shuttle service is Wednesday, Sept. 28.

  • Empowered Women Chefs Series: Chef Susan Spicer

    Location: Demonstration Kitchen, Ledet Culinary Arts Building


    The Chef John Folse Culinary Institute has launched a lecture and culinary demonstration series focused on encouraging women to pursue successful careers in the male-dominated restaurant industry. The series continues with guest Chef Susan Spicer, chef/owner of Bayona, Mondo and Wild Flour Breads in New Orleans. Spicer, a former Food and Wine Top Ten Best New Chef, is a New Orleans culinary legend. Recognized extensively by Food and Wine magazine as well as the James Beard Foundation, Spicer is best known as the chef and co-owner of Bayona in the French Quarter and Mondo in the city's Lakeview neighborhood. Seating is limited, so reservations are required by calling 985-493-2700.

    Join Campus Dining and the Nicholls Dietetics Association for an organized mile walk/run around campus. Get educated on how to create a healthy plate and enjoy free samples along the way. The first 15 people to sign-in at the event will receive a free Mindful water bottle. All who complete the mile will receive a free meal voucher to Galliano Dining Hall.
