  • Chess Camp
    July 17, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm

    Location: Bowie Room – Student Union


    Come learn the art of chess with an instructor whose earned the title of National Master from the United States Chess Federation in 1985 and has written two books on chess. He teaches at several local elementary schools and gives private lessons to people of all ages. In these camps he will teach all beginners how to play and help others improve their games by instruction and holding tournaments. Each participant will be given an official chess tournament set, vinyl roll up board, zippered pouch, and chess books worth $30. Awards will be given for the tournament on the last day of camp.

    Location: Chef John Folse Culinary Institute at the Ledet Building


    Do you have a child who loves to cook and aspires to be a chef? At this culinary camp your child will learn to cook from “scratch” like professional chefs. The sessions will include sanitation, safety, homemade pasta, pastries and more. Junior chefs will be able to taste their culinary creations and take home recipes to cook for their family. The camp will be taught by chefs of the Chef John Folse Culinary Institute.
