  • Empowered Women Chefs Series: Chefs Felicia Suzanne Willett and Anne Kearney

    Location: Demonstration Kitchen, Ledet Culinary Arts Building


    The Chef John Folse Culinary Institute has launched a new lecture and culinary demonstration series focused on encouraging women to pursue successful careers in the male-dominated restaurant industry. The series continues with guest Chef Felicia Suzanne Willett and Chef Anne Kearney. Chef and owner of Felicia Suzanne's Restaurant in downtown Memphis, Willett worked as Emeril Lagasse's assistant, co-author of his cookbooks and producer of his "Good Morning America" segments for eight years before opening her restaurant and starting the Flo's Homemade Goodness product line. Chef Kearney also worked for Emeril Lagasse both on the kitchen line and behind the scenes, developing and testing recipes for his cookbooks and "Essence of Emeril" television program. She and her husband, Thomas Sand Jr., now live in Dayton, Ohio, where they established an all-natural garden that provides fresh produce for their restaurant Rue Dumaine. Seating is limited, so reservations are required by calling 985-493-2700.
