ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Dr. Martin has published in Leviathan: A Journal of Melville Criticism, The Nathaniel Hawthorne Review, Postmodern Culture, and Studies in American Indian Literature. Dr. Martin specializes in 19th century American Literature. He enjoys teaching Early American Literature, British Literature, and Academic and Professional Writing.

BIO:

Dr. Michael Martin began teaching at Nicholls State University in Fall of 2017. He is Assistant Professor of English, the Chênière faculty advisor, and a member of the Fletcher Lecture Committee.

At Nicholls State University, Dr. Martin is active with the Veterans Organization and sends his two young children to the Little Colonels Academy. He often takes his classes on field trips to local historical sites. Dr. Martin also enjoys spending time with his family and cats and hiking.
