COLONEL CLOSET PANTRY
MISSION
The mission of the Nicholls State University Colonel Closet Pantry is to provide supplemental food, household, and hygiene items at no cost to university community members who may be experiencing food and/or financial insecurities.
ABOUT THE COLONEL PANTRY
The Colonel Closet Pantry provides needed support helping to ensure that no one within the university community has to choose between food and other basic needs. Through collaborative partnerships with Terrebonne Churches United Food Bank (TCU), Second Harvest Food Bank, Dairy Max, Rouses and a generous donation from the Danos Family Foundation, Nicholls State University is able to provide the university community with 24 hr. access to food and supplies located in the Colonel Closet Pantry. This effort is supported by the Division of Student Affairs and is operated by the Office of Case Management.
HOW DOES IT WORK
The Colonel Closet Pantry is a red cupboard located inside of the Brady Clubhouse common space and is a part of the Colonel Closet program. Any Nicholls student, faculty, or staff member can access the pantry any day or time where they can select as many items as needed at no cost. We ask that shoppers are respectful and take only what they need that will be used in a short period of time. It is essential that each visitor use their phone to scan and complete the QR code located on the Colonel Closet Pantry door to assist with reporting requirements for our partners and inventory management. For your protection, there is also 24 hr. surveillance of the area.
*NOTE~Additional perishable and nonperishable food items are available inside of the Colonel Closet during hours of operation. Please check the Colonel Closet website for hours of operation.
