AHSC 220. Pathophysiology. 3-3-0. Prerequisites: C or better in BIOL 114, 115, 116, and 117 and credit or registration in NURS 226 or BIOL 155. Systems approach which identifies, characterizes, and analyzes physiological alterations in the functions of the human body. Emphasis on the alterations of normal physiology and the various ways alterations are manifested. (51.0901)

AHSC 221. Pharmacology. 3-3-0. Prerequisites: C or better in BIOL 114, 115, 116, and 117 and credit or registration in NURS 226 or BIOL 155. Underlying principles of actions of various drug groups; sources, physical and chemical properties, physiological actions, absorption rate, excretion, therapeutic uses, side effects, and toxicity. Emphasis on fundamental concepts applying to actions of most drugs. (51.0901)

AHSC 404. Research in Health Sciences. 3-3-0. Prerequisite: Junior standing. In-depth review of research and literature relevant to allied health sciences. (51.0999)

AHSC 410. Clinical Human Performance Laboratory. 3-2-3. Prerequisite: C or better in HPED 360. Laboratory techniques in human performance, physical fitness testing, clinical exercise stress testing, and the physiology of exercise. Sp only. (31.0505)

AHSC 425. Special Topics in Allied Health Sciences. 3-3-0.     Prerequisites:  Junior standing. In-depth review of selected health care topics within the allied health discipline. May be repeated for credit if content differs, but not more than six semester hours can be applied toward degree requirements. (51.09999)

AHSC 440. Integrated Health Professions Practice I. 3-3-0. Prerequisite: Junior standing. A comprehensive overview of US healthcare organizational structure, financing and reimbursement options, and delivery policies and procedures, as well as changes and trends that are shaped by social, economic, and political factors. AHSC 442. Integrated Health Professions Practice II. 3-3-0. Prerequisite: C or better in AHSC 440. Examination of how research and policy affect organizational structure of various healthcare delivery systems. (51.0701)

AHSC 450. Seminar in Contemporary Health Care Issues. 3-3-0. Prerequisite: Junior standing. Examination of legal and ethical issues for the allied healthcare professional.  (51.9999)
