Bio:

I serve as a full time assistant professor teaching mostly literacy and lesson planning classes. I also assign candidates to the public schools for field experiences prior to clinical practices.

What are some interesting facts about yourself?

“Someone told me a long time ago that if you find something to do that you truly love, you’ll never have to work a day in your life! That is how I feel about the teaching profession. I love my job. I also serve as the faculty adviser to the Nicholls Bass Fishing Team who has accomplished 2 national titles in two years. I love to fish…mainly with my dad so starting a team at Nicholls was right up my alley.”

Complete one of the following statements: “My dream job other than teaching at Nicholls would be…” -OR- “My future career aspirations include…”

“My dream job other than teaching at Nicholls would be to teach middle school. When I began my career, I was young and scared of big kids! I had some experiences in middle school classrooms prior to leaving the public school system in 2003 and realized that was a missed opportunity for me. While I loved my elementary students, I think I would have enjoyed working with the middle school students a little more.”

Answer one of the following questions: If you were to win the lottery, what would you do with the winnings? -OR- If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

“If I won the lottery, I would open my own school. I would hire all the best teachers and enroll mainly impoverished, struggling learners. I would prove that good teachers can change the world!”

Accomplishments:

Parish Teacher of the Year Award from Lafourche Parish Schools in 2000.
