Bio:

You can see the creative juices flowing from Dr. Elizabeth Block, even when you ask her an elementary question. “What’s your favorite color?” “Robin’s egg blue.” Not pink, green, red or even blue. “Robin’s egg blue.” Her originality and love for serving others helps Block prepare students for careers in early childhood education. Block joined the Nicholls staff in 2002 as an assistant professor, before being promoted to an associate professor in 2013. She is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and serves as the NCATE/CAEP co-chair. Block is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, Society for Research in Child Development and the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. Block advises current students to “use college as a time for personal growth and academic exploration. Take classes that you enjoy, and you will find your niche. College does not create the final product … it is just the beginning.” In her spare time, Block is a mother to three fun-loving children, Thomas, Andrew and Eloise. She also volunteers with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and serves as the President of the St. Genevieve Home and School Association.
