BIO:
Dr. Richmond Eustis is an Associate Professor of English and Spanish at Nicholls State University. Dr. Eustis teaches world literature courses, classical literature, courses about literature and wilderness, and Spanish.
EDUCATION:
He received a B.A. from Boston University, an M.A. from University of Georgia, and a PhD from Louisiana State University. Dr. Eustis has taught literature and Spanish at Nicholls since 2011, with a focus on World Literature and Postcolonial American Literature.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
In 2015-2016, Dr. Eustis received the Fulbright Scholarship to lead the project “American Transcendentalism: Garden and Road” in Jordan. He conducts research about wilderness in literature and critical theory in English, Spanish, French, Arabic, and Latin. He has presented his work at conferences such as MLA, ACLA, and the Middle East Studies Association. In his time off, Dr. Eustis leads wilderness expeditions with the National Outdoor Leadership School in Alaska and Scandinavia.
Dr. Eustis is published in Salon, Criticism, Perspectives, Stand, and interviewed with NPR and CBC about his experience teaching world literature to Syrian refugees. His writing will also be featured in the Fall 2019 release of New Orleans: The Literary History, published by Cambridge University.
