Nicholls Student’s Film to be Screened at New Orleans Film Festival

Liang, Under the Knife

Congratulations to Andrew Liang, whose film, “Under the Knife: Overcoming Boundaries,” will screen at the 31st Annual New Orleans Film Festival.

His film is about a Nicholls State University student with an interesting narrative: while being legally blind, a double lung transplant recipient and diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, he is studying at John Folse Culinary Institute to become a chef. Liang created his film for Melissa Remark’s ENGL 446: Documentary Film Production

“Under the Knife: Overcoming Boundaries” will screen at the NOFF Open Air Cinema on Lafitte Greenway on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 3:30 p.m. and on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 3:30 p.m., as well as virtually throughout the festival. Andrew’s film screens with Louisiana Short Films programs and is eligible for several awards. Tickets will be available through neworleansfilmsociety.org
