Welcome to Music at Nicholls

Welcome to the Department of Music at Nicholls! This is an exciting time for our department. In Fall 2017, we will welcome the largest freshman class of music majors ever at Nicholls.  In May 2018, the Nicholls Concert Choir will perform the Faure Requiem in Carnegie Hall in New York, conducted by our own Dr. Kenneth Klaus. A complete renovation to the beautiful Mary and Al Danos Theater was finished in 2016. Online music courses are a significant part of our curriculum.  We were also recently named an All-Steinway School, the only public school in Louisiana to receive the designation. Our department is growing quickly and we are excited about our future. Please explore these pages to find out more.

Whether you are a music major, minor, or just interested in exploring your musical talents, Nicholls has something for you. We offer courses and performance experiences that fulfill the requirements of the Bachelor of Arts degree with possible concentrations in instrumental or vocal studies.

At Nicholls, you will find a warm and friendly atmosphere among the skilled and experienced faculty. If you have any questions or would like to visit the campus, please feel free to contact me at shane.anderson@nicholls.edu.

Welcome!
