Bio:

Dr. Celebi was born and raised in Turkey. He is a military veteran. He served as an officer in Turkish Armed Forces for 14 years. He came to United States in 2013 to pursue a PhD. After
receiving his Ph.D. in Sociology from University of North Texas at Denton, Texas, he joined the Sociology Department at Nicholls State University in August of 2019. His primary research
interests are integration and transition of people with disabilities and mental health issues and veterans into social/civilian life, medical sociology, military sociology, quantitative research methods and statistics, and big data engineering. He has published research on health/medical sociology. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends and loves playing and watching tennis and soccer.
