Nicholls dyslexia center to host info session for new charter school
THIBODAUX – The Louisiana Center for Dyslexia and Related Learning Disorders, headquartered at Nicholls State University, in partnership with Baton Rouge community leaders is inviting the public to attend an information session in Baton Rouge on Monday, Sept. 17. Attendees will learn about plans for a new charter school specifically designed for students with dyslexia.
Nicholls ‘Monster Piano Concert’ scheduled for Sept. 18
THIBODAUX – The Nicholls State University Foundation and the Nicholls Department of Music will host the fifth annual Monster Piano Concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, in the Mary M. Danos Theater (formerly Talbot Theater) on campus.

THIBODAUX – Drs. Earl Melancon and Ramaraj Boopathy, both distinguished service professors of biological sciences at Nicholls State University, were named Alcee Fortier distinguished service professors at the first faculty meeting of the fall 2012 semester.
Nicholls to offer master’s program in nursing
THIBODAUX – Having received final approval from the Louisiana State Board of Nursing, Nicholls State University will offer a Master of Science program in nursing beginning in spring 2013. Administered by the College of Nursing and Allied Health, the program will be part of the state’s Intercollegiate Consortium for a Master of Science in Nursing.
Nicholls duo to mark CD release with free concert
THIBODAUX – A piano and violin duo from the Nicholls State University Department of Music will commemorate the release of a new CD with a free, public concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, in the Mary M. Danos Theater (formerly Talbot Theater) on campus.
