Nicholls State University is excited to announce that we will have 2025 summer camps!  Please continue to check our website for updates on new specialized camps. Registration is open!

Become a COLONEL CAMPER! If you are a parent looking for all-day summer care for your K-8th grader (camper must be 5 years old before the start of camp), there are options for you. Fun-filled days will keep your camper content, and parents can rest easy that their kids are in great hands! Space is limited, so register early!

Campers will swim, play games and sports, use computer labs, do arts & crafts, engage in educational enriched sessions along with many other exciting activities.  Please see below the different options available for your camper.  Enroll today!

COLONEL CAMPER

A full-day program with academics in the morning, lunch and fun recreation activities in the afternoon.   8 weeks for academics will be offered along with a 9 week option.  

Dates: 8 week option will begin May 27 – July 18, 2025 OR  9 week option May 27 to July 25, 2025

Please register your camper into the grade level they will be entering in fall 2025.

Lunch will be provided by  Galliano dining hall employees along with a daily snack. One simple registration is all that’s required.  Payment in full is required by Friday, May 9, 2025 along with the camper medical form.

Registration in this program also includes one camp t-shirt, daily lunch, daily snacks and special events.   Discount for siblings is offered.

8  Weeks Colonel Camper Program OR Colonel Camper Extreme

Dates: May 27 to July 18, 2025

Time: 7:50 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (drop off begins at 7:00 am)

Fees: $1,325.00 — 8 week program
**$1,225.00 (Sibling Discount) **
**1st Camper will be $1,325.00 and  2nd/3rd sibling campers will be at the discount rate of $1,225.00 each**

9 Weeks Colonel Camper Program OR Colonel Camper Extreme

Dates: May 27 to July 25, 2025
(Academics will be offered for the first 8 weeks for those enrolled in Colonel Camper and the 9th week will be filled with fun sports & activities)

Time: 7:50 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (drop off begins at 7:00 am)

Fees: $1,450.00 — 9 week program
**$1,350.00 (Sibling Discount)**
**1st Camper will be $1,450.00 and  2nd/3rd sibling campers will be at the discount rate of $1,350.00 each**

 Place:  Drop-off and Pick-up will be in front of Shaver Gym (Acadia Drive)

 Timely pick-up is required.

 **NOTE: WHEN REGISTERING, REGISTER THE CHILD’S NAME NOT THE GUARDIAN. IF YOU ARE REGISTERING MORE THAN ONE CHILD, REGISTER EACH CHILD SEPARATELY UNDER HIS OR HER OWN REGISTRATION.

MONTHLY OPTION:  A full-day program with sports and recreation focus.  Offering two 4 week options.

Dates:  June 2-27, 2025 OR June 30- July  25, 2025   

Fees:  $825.00 per month (June or July)

WEEKLY OPTION:  Full-day and half-day sessions with sports and recreation focus are available.

COLONEL ACADEMY

A half-day program with academic focus.  Camper will be with a certified teacher to get a head start for the fall 2025 school year.  Please register camper in the grade level they will be entering in fall 2024,

Dates: 8 weeks beginning May 27 – July 18, 2025
Times:  7:50 a.m. to 11:35 a.m. (drop off begins at 7:00 am)
Fee:  $725.00 per camper

Payment in full is required by Friday, May 9, 2025 along with the camper medical form.

HIGH SCHOOL CONCERT BAND CAMP

Participating students will form a concert band to learn various styles of  music.  They will hone their skills in the areas of tone quality, intonation, theory, and overall musicianship, culminating in a performance at the end of the week in Danos Theater.    

** Open to students that are currently in 8th-12th grades in 2025-2026
** Participants will not be able to do the Concert Choir Camp
** You will need to provide your own instrument unless you are a percussionist. 

Dr. Jason Ladd is the Director of Bands at Nicholls State University and has been teaching at the university for 10 years.

Dr. Ben Robichaux is the Director of Athletic Bands at Nicholls State University.

Dates:  June 16-20, 2025
Times:  9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Location:  Lindsley Hall (band room)   **Please indicate instrument when registering**
Ages:   8th-12th Graders (2025-2026 school year)
Fee:  $300.00 (includes daily lunch in Galliano Hall Cafeteria)

MUSIC COMPOSITION CAMP

Join Dr. Ben Robichaux for an intensive week-long music composition camp that includes 

** Music Theory Lessons
** Guided Compositional Exercise
**Working in the Nicholls Music Department’s Music Technology Lab

Camp days will take place from Monday-Friday, June 2-6, 2025  from 9 am to noon – 12 pm.

Dr. Robichaux has 12 music publications, several composition awards and numerous national and international performances of his music. He also revived the Music Composition Degree at Nicholls State University.

JAZZ CAMP

Students will create a Jazz Ensemble in a week-long camp aimed at learning and honing Jazz Skills including improvising and preparing for a performance/exhibition at the end of the week.

** Open to student at are currently enrolled in 8th-12th grades.

** Mr. Nolan Wible, Assistant Professor Jazz and High Brass at Nicholls State University will be the camp director

COST:  $250.00 (Due May 1, 2025)

CONCERT CHOIR CAMP

Concert Choir Camp

Participating student will create a concert choir that will hone skills all week long culminating in a performance at the end of the week.

Dr. John St. Marie, Director of Choirs at Nicholls State University will be the camp director.

JUNIOR COLONEL CHEER CAMP

Come yell, jump and flip with the Nicholls cheerleaders at the Nicholls Junior Colonel Cheerleader Camp. Campers will learn basic cheerleading skills, including motion technique, jumps and stunts. Instructors will also teach cheer routines to the campers.  Registration fee includes a camp t-shirt and snacks.  Enroll your cheerleader today!

COMPUTER CODING CAMP

In Coding Camp, your camper will learn how to program their own interactive games, stories and animations!  They will be able to share their creations with others.  This camp will help your young computer coder learn to think creatively, reason systematically and work collaboratively – essential skills for life!

CHESS CAMPS

One Move Ahead Chess Scholarship | Bold.org

Come learn the art of chess with an instructor who earned the title of National Master from the United State Chess Federation in 1985 and has written two books on chess.  Mike Papa teaches at several local elementary schools and gives private lessons to people at all ages. In these camps, he will teach all beginners how to play and help other improve their games by instruction and holding tournaments.  If your camper is a chess enthusiast or new to chess, this camp is the best to further your campers skills and knowledge!

Lafourche Parish Camps

Terrebonne Parish Camp

This cross country camp will assess your athletes’ ability level in distance running, teach fundamental running mechanics and skills needed to improve as a cross country and distance track & field athlete. Many of the skills that will be worked on will benefit the athletes’ performance in other sports as well. 

Camp will be led by Head Track & Field and Cross Country Stefanie Slekis; along with other staff members, current cross country student-athletes and experienced distance runners. Each camper will leave with a suggested summer training plan based on their ability level and a better understanding of how to establish process and outcome goals to improve as an athlete in any sport.  Sign up your camper now!

STEM SUMMER CAMPS (Bayou STEM)

JUST for FUN CREATIVITY CAMPS

Campers will have a great time making super-fun “arts and crafts” projects, under directional step-by-step instruction and various themes, alternating with freestyle projects in a crafty Makerspace.  Each session will do different arts and crafts projects.  Register your camper for BOTH camps today!
