Business Administration Program

The university awards the Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Business Administration upon the successful completion of the Business Administration curriculum and the satisfaction of university and College of Business Administration requirements. The Business Administration curriculum prepares graduates for careers in private business and governmental agencies. Preparation of students for entry into graduate school is considered part of the overall objective of this curriculum. Students majoring in Business Administration will be exposed to courses which will provide a broad knowledge of our society and business world.

POST BACCALAUREATE CERTIFICATE IN APPLIED BUSINESS

The Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Applied Business is a certification program designed for individuals who have earned a baccalaureate degree and are seeking functional competencies in business administration. The program focuses on those individuals who are working in an organization or in their own business who are in need of a general understanding of the core business disciplines of accounting, economics, business law, marketing and management and should not be considered as equivalent to a comprehensive business degree program offered by Nicholls State University College of Business. It provides an option for adult learners who are interested in furthering their education without pursuing a four-year degree.

Requirements

  1. Baccalaureate Degree.
  2. University Admission.
  3. Successful completion of each of the following business courses with a great of C or better (18 hours total).*
    1. ACCT 205: Introduction to Financial Accounting (3 credits)
    2. ECON 211: Principles of Microeconomics (3 credits)
    3. ACCT 206: Introduction to Managerial Accounting (3 credits)
    4. MNGT 301: Management of Organizations and Behavioral Processes (3 credits)
    5. BSAD 221: Legal Environment of Business (3 credits)
    6. MKTG 300: Marketing (3 credits)

*A  minimum of 12 credits must be completed at Nicholls to obtain the Certificate. A request to transfer up to 6 credit hours can be made for equivalent coursework completed outside of Nicholls with approval of Department Head.

Computer Information Systems Program

The University awards the Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Computer Information Systems to the student upon the successful completion of the Computer Information Systems curriculum and the requirements of the University and the College of Business Administration. The curriculum prepares graduates to analyze, design, develop and implement computer information systems.
